When you will try to move the items from the locally mounted Xsan to your trash then you may see an error message: “The item will be deleted immediately”.
Before starting the recovery process you should make the backup of the hard disk to the external hard disk. First be sure that you have the privileges of the Read and Write on the home folder. Then you should verify that the trash directory exists or not. For this you can open the terminal which is located in a Macintosh HD of Applications of Utilities folder. You can type EXACTLY command at a terminal prompt. Then you may press return key. If a response contains the “No such file or directory” in that case you may either restart the mac or log out of the account. You are now able to add data to your Trash. This will empty your trash and will create the new trash directory with right permissions and ownership.
If FileVault is protecting an affected account then you can log into an affected accounts. Then log into the admin account. Then open a terminal which is located in a Macintosh HD. Then you can type EXACTLY at a terminal prompt. Then type the admin password and then click return. Then log out the admin account. Then log into an affected account.
